The Right Place and Time - Grontmij Carl Bro Viet Nam Establishes Building

In the fall of 2007 a Buildings Department was established in Grontmij Carl Bro Viet Nam, office in Ho Chi Minh City and headed up by Mr. Cao The, as part of the change in strategy and management. Ho Chi Minh City (former Saigon) is the fastest growing city in the world today with a GDP of 24% for 2007, which is expected to reach 25% in 2008.   Sonion Vietnam Co. Limited, Lot I3-9, Saigon High Tech Park, District 9, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam   Within a few months they won a Program Management position as the professional sparring partner for Sonion Vietnam Ltd after a presentation to Sonion management from Denmark. The presentation showed the most feasible way to expand and build new energy efficient factories in Vietnam. In December 2007 Sonion gave the HCMC office a power of attorney to act on their behalf with Government of Viet Nam investment authorities and Saigon High Tech Park to build the first phase of new factories, which is a 4 story 6000m² high tech factory. That same month Divisional Director Soren Larsen visited the HCMC office to discuss networking and cooperation with his divisions, and strategy and to visit some of the clients and projects below. He also visited the Sonion 1 factory. Sonion 1 is considered the most sustainable and energy efficient factory in Viet Nam today and besides being the construction managers, GMCB – Viet Nam has a framework agreement with Sonion 1 for commissioning and operation of the factory.
