Intelligent Solutions for Moving the Nation ForwardTraffic Safety
The transport sector of Vietnam is facing with several
challenges. High traffic accident rate is one of them. It has
been becoming more and more critical in the last decade as a
negative consequence of the rapid growth in the national economy
and significant improvement of the living standards. Based on
the statistical data available from the National Traffic Safety
Committee, there were 14,643 road accidents in 2005 with 11,507
fatalities and 12,030 injured persons. It has been noted data
collection of traffic accidents is not yet adequate, thus the
real number of casualties is likely to be much higher.
Practical road safety strategy and a set of effective road
safety measures, adaptable to the specific conditions of
Vietnam, should be urgently introduced to combat the road safety
problem. Grontmij | Carl Bro Group has extensive experience with the
preparation, organization and implementation of national road
